Official mode and the community mod
The official Steam game and demo list Single-player. Casualties Together is a separate community multiplayer mod. Its own release notes define its requirements.
Check the versions first
The author’s v5.1.5 release specifies:
| Component | Release requirement |
|---|---|
| Game | Casualties: Unknown Demo 7.0.1 |
| Multiplayer mod | Casualties Together v5.1.5 |
| Loader | BepInEx 5.4.23.5, x64 |
Match the actual game build before copying files. This demo target does not establish compatibility with other builds or the future full game. Use the assets and README for this release; similarly named loader packages are not interchangeable.
The author’s installation flow
- In Steam, use Manage → Browse local files to open the game directory.
- Extract the required BepInEx package into that game root.
- Extract the contents of the mod’s MPMod folder into the same root, following the author’s folder instructions.
- Launch through Steam and look for the multiplayer options described by the mod.
These are the author’s documented steps, not a tested connection guarantee. If the expected interface is absent, check the game version, architecture and folder layout before adding more files.
Deactivate the mod
The README names Settings → General → Deactivate MP Mod. Deactivation is not a complete file uninstall; follow the project’s removal or recovery instructions when needed.
An installed mod or visible control does not by itself mean a multiplayer session has connected.
Skins and other mods
Check each package’s target build, loader and replaced files. Casualties Together requiring BepInEx does not mean every skin uses it or works alongside this release. Demo compatibility does not extend automatically to the full game. See the edition comparison before choosing an install.
